Epic Quest Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Game Tester to join our team working on an exciting Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) title. As a Game Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and stability of our game by identifying and reporting bugs, providing feedback on gameplay mechanics, and assisting in the refinement of game systems. This role requires a passion for gaming, attention to detail, and experience playing World of Warcraft (WOW) or similar MMO titles.

What you'll help us build

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of game features, systems, and content to identify bugs, glitches, and gameplay issues. Test various aspects of the game including quests, combat mechanics, user interfaces, and online multiplayer functionality.
  • Bug Reporting: Document and report bugs using designated bug tracking software, providing clear and detailed descriptions of issues encountered. Include steps to reproduce bugs and attach relevant screenshots or videos to assist developers in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to verify that reported issues have been successfully resolved and that new changes or updates have not introduced additional bugs or unintended consequences.
  • Feedback and Suggestions: Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving gameplay mechanics, balancing, and overall player experience. Communicate issues and suggestions effectively with the development team to facilitate iterative improvements.
  • User Experience Testing: Evaluate the game from the perspective of the player, assessing factors such as immersion, pacing, difficulty, and progression. Identify areas where the game can be enhanced to better engage and retain players.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in alpha and beta testing phases, engaging with the player community to gather feedback, address concerns, and promote transparency and collaboration between players and developers.

Your craft

  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of MMO gameplay mechanics and conventions. Experience playing World of Warcraft (WOW) or similar MMO titles is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to systematically test and identify issues in complex game systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate bugs and provide detailed feedback to developers.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software such as Jira, Bugzilla, or Mantis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
