About the role

We’re looking for a Brand Designer with an extensive visual communication design skillset to join our remote team to help evolve our brand and produce marketing materials that position ConvertKit as the essential tool the world’s most interesting creators use to share their work, spread their ideas and earn a living.

As part of our multidisciplinary Brand Studio team you’ll report to our Creative Director and will play a core role in shaping a brand identity that creators love. You’ll take ownership of how the ConvertKit brand shows up across our marketing channels and campaigns and be responsible for creating and/or art directing static and motion assets that clearly communicate the value of ConvertKit. You’ll also collaborate with one other Senior Brand Designer (who is responsible for our marketing website) to develop brand identity systems that foster consistency and creativity so that we can always look our best.

Responsibilities

The Brand Designer will be responsible for:

  • Evolving and expanding on our visual brand identity and the systems that help us stay on brand consistently.
  • Creating and art directing original and effective designs – both digital and print – for marketing collateral across our content, social media, advertising, email, events, training and sales channels.
  • Ensuring that we’re always designing the right solution to the problem.
  • Working with animators and video editors to create effective on-brand motion graphics and video ads for our campaigns and content.
  • Iterating and improving on design assets through A/B testing, user research and feedback – particularly paid advertising assets in partnership with our ads team.
  • Giving feedback and art direction to external design contractors, and helping to prioritize their workflow for efficient asset production.
  • Collaborating with the Product Marketing Manager and marketing channel managers to produce effective and creative campaign assets.
  • Understanding our company strategy and business goals, and optimizing design assets to help meet those goals.
  • Maintaining consistency in our visual brand and high-standards for design throughout the company.
  • Managing design projects and meeting deadlines, with clear communication to the wider team about priorities.
  • Understanding our target audience of professional creators and competitor landscape to ensure our visual brand identity stays relevant and effective.

Requirements

The right designer for this role has:

  • Prior in-house experience in a brand, marketing, or visual design role operating at a senior level (even if ‘Senior’ wasn’t in your job title).
  • A portfolio of work that showcases your ability to:some text
    • Design creative and effective assets for various marketing channels
    • Craft and evolve a visual brand identity and develop systems that support it
    • Art direct (or create) beautiful product marketing motion graphics
  • A keen eye for design details like typography, iconography, illustration and motion.
  • The ability to respond well to feedback and to give useful feedback to internal and external creative partners.
  • An understanding of how to measure and improve design performance.
  • Strong writing skills to clearly communicate ideas and design decisions.
  • Confidence designing and creating systems in Figma.
  • The ability to be autonomous and self-motivated in a remote work environment.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively and join regular meetings with teammates in US/Europe time zones.
  • Belief in our mission, vision and values

And it’d be a bonus to have:

  • At least three years of design experience in a tech company creating marketing assets for a B2C product
  • Experience testing design assets through A/B tests, user testing or user research
  • Experience using After Effects or another animation tool to create motion graphics
  • The ability to design effective landing pages and websites
  • Experience designing for the creator economy

Compensation + Perk + Benefits

ConvertKit has standardized salaries based on position, no matter where in the world you live. For this role, we’re hiring at level 3 ($127,500) or level 4 ($152,500). Level is determined based on experience and our interview process. Other benefits include:

  • Winter Break Closure: ConvertKit closes for a week at the end of December, giving everyone a collective break to enjoy the holiday season. Essential support services remain available, with teams coordinating to ensure coverage during this period.
  • Four-week, paid sabbatical after five years with the team
